Skywatch Friday: White-Winged Dove

DSC_0230

White-winged Dove at Patagonia Lake SP 3-5-10

While the White-winged doves have not returned to Sycamore Canyon yet this year, Dawn and I found this one sitting in a mesquite tree along the lake near a picnic area after we finished out lunch last Friday. It was had to believe this would be my last day birding with them for a long time to come.  We had such a good time.

Jeff and Dawn, I wish you peace.

How unusual Kathie, the blue eyeliner on that dove. Lovely looking bird.

A beautiful picture of the dove. I enjoyed followed your birding adventures with Dawn and Jeff. You should set up tours and be a guide.

Looks like that stick is stabbing the dove. His eyeliner matches the sky!

The bird's eyering looks as blue as the sky!

Great photo of a bird that inspired Stevie Nicks to write a song!
