Oh, that must have felt insanely wonderful!

Roy, today you would never know it rained. This thirsty earth absorbed it all away!

Birdcouple, it did! I went out and stood in it for a bit just to see/feel/touch/smell/hear it! Today the sun is back out, the temperature is rising, and it is soo-o-o humid! I am ready for more rain!

Wow, you really got a down pour Kathie. Sure hope you get more so the ground can get really wet.
Good thing something got that rabbit before the storm.

Gaelyn AMEN! It might have ended up floating in that brown stew in the wash! Yuk!

Now, that is a good rain! That poor little hummer looks drenched.

Love the cloud shot at the end.

Gardenpath, thanks! and I know, that hummer cracked me up (poor thing)!

How wonderful for you and your garden and for all the critters. Water spells abundance for all. We too had an inch of rain in 12 hrs., not much of course and nowhere near enough to give some runoff into our almost empty dams, but every little helps.
I love your pelting down rain shots and hope you went out in it and got thoroughly soaked. Nothing better in your and our climate in the summer.

Carol, thanks! and a new storm is rolling in right now so I'm going to shut my computer down for now!

Wonderful pictures. We finally had some storm. Rain was badly needed.

Yay! RAIN! We are finally getting a summer heat wave. Low 90's over in Ogden area, still only 85 here at the house now at 4pm. Expecting 100 in SL Valley tomorrow.

Beautiful sky, Kathy. Even more so when it brings much needed rain.

Looks like it poured, Kathie! That drenched Hummer shot is wonderful - can't stop eating even when there is a downpour!

PS I also wanted to say that your final cloud show is spectacular!

Fabulous shots again! Poor little hummingbird! Such a sad sight. Quite a nice downpour you got. I am lovin' your back yard. **kisskiss** Deb

I never thought of hummingbird as living in the desert. I like your blog, and that's a great Langston Hughes quote at the top.

Wow Kathie I am sorry I missed your post. What a downfall! I bet that country just sucks it up like a sponge!!! How wonderful, it must be like renewal for the plants and animals. Love the wet hummer picture. So cute! Take care and talk with you soon!

Wow..its pouring buckets! You needed that. Our friends visiting from Tucson said they needed some summer monsoons.
Hope all the birdies find nice places to take cover.

Oh...and I LOVE that last photo!

Celeste said...

Hurray! I am sure all the plants and animals appreciated it just as much as you did. And then there is always that wonderful smell after the first rains.

Your photography is fantastic. I was reading through your posts and wanted to mention how much I like your blog. It sounds like you have so many changes on the horizon and I hope they will all go well. I know it must be hard.
