Costa’s hummingbird 7-31-10 My backyard
It has been crazy busy around here the past 10 days getting ready for Gus to leave and getting the house ready for the realtor to take pictures and put the house on the market. I have more stories to tell and pictures to show. The house photos are done and I am working on new post to publish very soon.
Here in Sycamore Canyon the Monsoon has receded for now and we have blue skies with temperatures rising into he 100’s once again. Below are some shots I took on the last day of July when the Monsoon was in full swing.
Backyard terrace, our favorite place to sit and eat breakfast or watch the sunset.

Beautiful scenes, but I'm sure you will have new ones, too!
I hadn't realized Gus was moving so soon - wow, no wonder you're busy. Good luck with the house - it's lovely, and will be a real find for some lucky person.
Cheryl Ann, I hope to see them soon!
Wren, thanks! I feel it is the perfect place for another nature lover like me! However, I am exhuasted!
Looks like a very nice place, lovely photos ;)
It's lovely there. It must be hard to move on...but exciting. Now I'm going to read back in your blog to find out where you are going!
That is a whirlwind you are dealing with since everything is happening so soon. What a beautiful place and views. I know you will have new beautiful places to explore but I understand how hard it must be to leave this place.
Wow, Gus is leaving already. Will you be staying until the house sells? Hope you can enjoy it a little longer, but that your beautiful home sells fast.
I know you're crazy busy, but still hold out that you'll make it to the North Rim before heading east.
Kathie, these are real nostalgia photos. I too have taken such of every view out of every window in our Mt.Lofty house.
It is heartbreaking to to leave a place one has grown to love.
I am sure your nesting instincts will create something else you will grow to love.
All the best, love, Arija
Hi Kathie! Thanks so much for stopping by. It's always good to hear from you. I've been looking at your chronicles. Love the scenery. It's so different from the east coast. Your birds are spectacular and love all your beautiful sky pix. Sending good wishes to your son in Afghanistan and also hope you will be happy with the move. Boston is a beautiful city. You'll have fun visiting Parker River NWR, Rachel Carson, Cape Cod, Longfellow's Inn, Walden Pond, Rockport, Acadia, White Mtns, and so many other interesting New England places. One door closes, another opens. Best wishes and a big hug to you. Lin
Wow those are some awesome clouds. And I just love the hummers! Take care.
Hello Kathie. Awesome views here.
Thank you for sharing.
Have a great day.
