It’s official, I’ve become a wimp. The temperature is only 59 degrees today. The wind is gusting around 25 to 30 MPH and I’m freezing!!!!!! I cranked the heat up to 70 this morning, but now I bumped it up to 72 and put on a sweater. It doesn’t take long to get use to the 80’s. I’m ready for sandals and sleeveless shirts again! I’m not quite as bad as the natives, though. While I was outside in just a long-sleeved shirt this morning, the young man who delivered my tree was wearing a flannel shirt and a winter coat!

When its sixty here, the natives break out the winter coats. The winter Texans walk around in white Bermuda shorts and tank tops and I know that tomorrow it will be eighty. Hang tough.

It was 39 here in East Anglia and wind gusting to 30mph.
Oh my, we've been used to the 20's and 30's and yesterday it was in the 50's with 6-8 inches of snow on the ground. I was out without a coat, loving it!! Funny what you get used to! Stay warm!
Kathie, when it's 50 degrees here, I wear a coat. Since moving south, my body has changed so much. For me, cold used to be in the teens. Now cold is 50s. I Understand!
I guess its all in what you get used to.-I'm a year round t-shirt guy and my winter coat is a hooded sweatshirt.
It's funny how people living in different climes have different concepts of what "hot" and "cold" are. We are currently enduring yet another ice storm and it's 24F outside. I was out earlier filling feeders wearing two sweatshirts. When I put a coat on, it's COLD!
It felt cooler because of the "wind chill factor." You are entitled to bundle up!

Hey Texican, thanks for stopping by! The next day was much warmer and so was this morning but now the wind has come up and the temp is starting to drop. However, the flowers are blooming and that warms my heart. If they can be brave, so can I!

Aunt B, when I lived in Maine I thought 20 degrees was a heat wave also. It didn't take me long to adjust to these new temps! Nice to see you!
Mary, thank you for your empathy! With everyone else below zero and in "feet" of snow, I do feel ridiculous! (Glad I'm not in the snow though!)

Patrice, yeah, I know about windchill factors but it almost seems comical to hear them talk about it down here-Highs in the 60's with a windchill of 50 just cracks me up!
Last week it was tee-shirts, Yesterday it snowed, tonight in the twenties. As the texican said we need coats. Anyway I really like your blog and added you to my blogroll. Martha and I have been birding for a long time and are looking forward to the spring migration. We go to High Island in April a couple of weekends every year. Troy (in cold Ft. Worth).
