Monsoon Sunset in Sycamore Canyon near Tucson, AZ 7-21-08

As Autumn presses in on us I wanted to share some of my favorite summer skies that I never got to post. I hope you enjoyed this visual reminder before the snow starts to fly. Most of these photos are from my trip back east this summer, but I returned to beautiful desert sunsets created by the cloudy skies of the Monsoon which officially ended on September 30th. Perhaps next week I will have a desert version of an autumn sky to share. Happy Skywatching everyone!

You always have such a wonderful assortment, such a pleasure to see! Cool tin roof, too - made me think of the ice cream!

Every one of these is a winner - but I love the darling swallows, and the beautiful kite.

Hi Kathie, you have some pretty places for us to visit along with you via your blog. Thank you.
Happy Skywatching.
..
BTW, Russia is fine, Moscow was more polluted than other places we went. The countryside was beautiful.

Beautiful summer skies. I hate to see them end, but I'm sure the autumn skies will be great on skywatch, too!

Hi Kathie, these are awesome photos, such a wide variety and all enjoyable. Thank you for sharing them. I came home tonight and after a while realized my nose was feeling a bit like an ice cube. Yes, Autumn is here :)

Beautiful! The picture of the cupola in Madison is stunning. I liked the hayfield, too, because I was there. The monsoon sky made me wish to be in the southwest in the summer to experience the storms. Beautiful pictures.

As always, a beautiful series of photos. I especially liked the ones of the Kennebec- they brought back some wonderful memories of my youth.

Heh. I've heard of land sharks and pool sharks; never seen a sky shark before, tho.

All gorgeous pictures, Kathie, although I've gotta pick the Kennebec Rivier shots as my favorites. Can't get enough good bridge photos, in my view.

Have a great weekend!

Katie, I love the swallows, the great open sky, am green with envy that you have both hay and water as we have neither this year and I like your frivolous kite. When farming costs more than it brings it, at least one can go fly a kite!

The swallows are my favorite, even though the colors in the next-to-last one are spectacular.

Great skywatch, kathie!

I think tree swallows are one neat bird and I have never seen more than one at a time perched on the same place.

Wonderful photos! Love that tin roof. You were so close to where I am!

Great pictures Kathie. Sure like the quality your camera provides, but it is the artist's eye that makes them special. Pappy
