Skywatch Friday: New England Architecture

Reflecting light and Shadows 7-16-08 photo by Kathie with the Nikon D80

I took this photo on my recent trip to New England to visit family. It was evening and I was sitting in my mother's yard by the fountain. As the Sun was setting the towering maples and hemlocks next to my mother's house cast these deep shadows on the neighboring house in the Historic District. I like the angle of the roof and the reflected sky in the window. While I love Arizona, I do miss this classic New England Architecture.
Shooting Data:
Lens: 18-70mm F/3.5-4.5 G
Focal Length: 48mm
Digital Vari-Program: Landscape
Metering Mode: Multi-Pattern

The shadow of the tree in the house provided great decoration. And that spotless blue sky is awesome.

The contrasts between architecture has got to be stunning. If it is like it used to be in Arizona, with walled in yards, etc..

I have been dealing with rheumatoid arthritis in my hands and the chemotherapy drug doesn't get rid of the pain so it is hard to type very much.

Even houses are different out here in the West. It is nice to travel around the country and see the differences in architecture. A lot of it is based on climate and weather. Pappy

Lovely. I particularly like the look of the tree trunk and branch moving up towards the window.

Hope you had a good trip back east!

I love the picture of the old barn, reminds me of childhood evenings, while being raised on the farm. :-)

If you love birding, you should definately make a trip here, Sanibel Island, FL.
